Australia: Muslims Against Terrorism Laws Support Terrorism
In a report from Australia's Sunday Times, leaflets were being distributed at an Islamic Eid festival in Melbourne on Saturday.
The leaflets were from Hizb ut-Tahrir, the Islamist group which claims not to support terror, unless of course it is terror against Israel and its citizens. The leaflet proclaimed opposition to the anti-terror laws of Prime Minister John Howard (pictured), and stated that anti-terror laws were part of a plot to eradicate Islam in Western countries. Just like Saudi Arabia, home of Mecca, has eradicated Christianity from its territory, I suppose.
The fliers said Muslims had "enormously rejected their evil and corrupt rulers that the West have appointed over them, and they are looking forward to consigning them to the dustbins of history". It also praised terrorist atrocities overseas where Muslims had "inflicted the most humiliating lesson on supposed superpowers".
And to show how mendacious the group's claims of non-violence are, the fliers proclaimed: "Ally yourselves with those who work day and night to confront this war against Islam".
The leaflets were condemned by Sheikh Fehmi at the Eid carnival, who said: "We're not terrorists and we're not thinking of terrorist acts, we're not going to do anything in the future - God willing."
This perhaps proves that John Howard's terrorist laws need to be enforced now. Hizb ut-Tahrir is a fomenter of hatred against western secularism, and has among its stated aims the desire to create an Islamic super-state. The group is active across the globe, and though its representatives say they do not commit acts of violence, they provide logistical and moral support to those that do.
