UK: Muslim Tombs Attacked in Birmingham

A report from the Birmingham Post states that a Muslim section of cemetery in Handsworth, which adjoins the Lozells area, affected by recent black/Muslim riots, has been attacked by vandals.
At least 30 graves have been attacked, and several headstones have been pushed over. A police spokesman has said that the incident will be treated as "racially aggravated criminal damage."
A Birmingham councillor, Len Gregory, has stated that the council is saddened at such senseless vandalism and "our immediate concern is to re-establish the headstones in their rightful place."
Leaflets were also found distributed at the scene. According to the BBC the leaflets were photocopied notes containing insults against Muslims, and were signed by the "Black Nation".
The BBC states that between 35 and 45 gravestones have been desecrated. It is not known if Black Nation is a real group or a fictional one. The desecration was discovered today, on the Muslim festival day of Eid, the end of Ramadan, when many Muslims were attending the region of the cemetery to pay their respects to loved ones.
Muslim Labour MP for Perry Bar, Khalid Mahmood (pictured) was at the scene, where he said: "These are disgraceful events, deliberately done to incite people. They are definitely trying to cause more problems particularly on this day when Muslim people are coming to pay their respects. We can't point the finger at a single community, individuals have done this but we are not sure who."
This sort of behaviour is to be condemned. The dead can not fight back. The cemetery where my father's grave lies was recently vandalised, so I can understand the hurt and anger such an attack must engender in the relatives.
