Denmark: Two More Suspected Islamists Detained
We brought you news yesterday of four young men arrested in Copenhagen suburbs in the morning, aged from 16 to 20. These individuals have been described as "introverted religious individuals". Only one of the youths had Danish citizenship. They were believed to have been planning to have themselves used as suicide bombers, according to the Copenhagen Post.
There have now been two more arrests connected with the case, states the Las Vegas Sun. The police announced that the individuals, who were detained yesterday, are suspected of assisting the four earlier detainees to plan an "imminent" terror attack.
The men were due to face a preliminary court hearing this morning.
Danish police are coordinating investigations with Bosnian police, who arrested three individuals last week, a Swede, a Turk and a Bosnian. Evidence from the Bosnian investigation hints that there was a plan to blow up the Sarajevo embassy of an un-named European country.
The last terrorist attack in Denmark happened 20 years ago, when a bomb went off outside the offices of North West Orient Airlines in Copenhagen. One person was killed and 16 injured, and three Palestinians living in Sweden were given life sentences for the crime in 1989.
