Egypt: Muslim Attacks Cause Christians To Beg For Help
A report from WorldNetDaily states that seven Coptic churches have been defaced by Muslim protesters. Last week, rioting at St George's Church in Alexandra left four dead, and more than 90 injured. A Coptic nun was stabbed in the church on the Wednesday prior to last Friday's main attack. She survived, but also had a finger severed in the assault.
The hostility has not abated since last Friday's main assault, which was carried out by a mob of at least 3,000 Muslims, fired up from attending Friday prayers. Now, the Coptic Christian community is so fearful it has requested the United States and the United Nations to intervene.
The article provided a hyperlink to a video of the less-reported attack upon the Assemblies of God Church for Evangelical Copts church in Moharam Bek. The attack happened on the same day as the major riot in Alexandria at St George's church. The video, released by the International Christian Union and American Coptic Association, can be uploaded from this site.
Dr Monir Dawoud, president of the ICU/ACA states that
"We are receiving numerous reports that extremist Muslim groups are planning to surround the Alexandria churches again on Friday, Oct.28, and at the end of Ramadan on the following Tuesday, promising the death of Christians and the continued destruction of churches throughout Egypt."Dr Dawoud states that the security forces have allowed the situation to progress this far. "If the momentum of the riots is allowed to continue, the crowds will be impossible to contain," he said.
The Coptic Pope, Shenouda III on Wednesday broke down in tears while delivering a sermon entitled "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest", depicted on the website. An Egyptian newspaper called Al Fager (Dawn) carried the message that one Islamic fanatic has said that it is permitted by religion to kill the Pope. The (Arabic) newspaper can be seen here
Coptic Christians make up 9% of Egypt's population, with most other Egyptians being Muslim.

Sir, u are a journalist, u r supposed to respect the morals of ur Job, why did u say half the truth and hide the other half????
Sir, the relations between muslims and christians in Egypt is 1000 times better than the relations between whites and blacks in USA.
Muslims in Egypt love christians and christians love muslims.
I am from Egypt, exactly from Alexandria.
What happened is, the church of Mary gerges made a movie making fun of Mohammed,of the man who we love more than our parents. They attacked Islam in this movie, they insult muslims.
Then a cd was made for this movie and was distributed in Alexandria. This CD aroused anger emotions. 3000 out of 15 milloin muslims living in Alexandria protested againest what happened. They asked the Pope to appologize and the man was great enough to refuse!!!
Then the attacks happened.
Those christians who made this CD represent some extremes among christians and most christians are againest them.
Those 4 who were killed were muslims not christians and they were killed by the police
Do u remember what happened in New orleans when the police could not keep the city safe, it's just the same
