I think it is important to point out that the Asians were not all Pakistanis nor were they all Muslims. Birmingham and the surrounding areas have just as many Sikhs and Hindus. The Muslims from India and Pakistan have much more in commone culturally with the Sikhs and Hindus of India eg, language, food, dress etc then they do with the Arabs of the Middle East. A minority of Black criminals attacked Sikh, Muslim & Hindu ie Asians shops and homes and attacked random Asian youths.

Sheree-Punjab is a well known Sikh gang, Aston Panthers is a Muslim gang. It is important to note that all Asians have suffered at the hands of Black criminals and all Asians have defended themselves, this is not a Muslim issue at all but a criminal issue of gangs targetting all Asians regardless of religion. These muggins, attacks have gone on for 20 years but now the Asian population has multiplied and so have Asian gangs and the reason you got a riot is because due to thier power and numbers the asian gangs are now prepared to fight back together as Asians.

The rumour surrounding the rape by 19 Asians needs to be authenticated, after all one poor innocent life has been taken.

One would think that 'alleged' rape vistim's self-respect, honour, dignity and sense of justice is more important than her fear of being deported as an illegal.

It is highly questionable that 19 asian muslims would take part in a gang rape in the holy month of ramadhan whilst fasting. Muslims are strictly forbidden to eat, drink and engage in any form sexual activity. What were 19 Asians doing crammed in a small that caters for black beauty products mainly for women? Did they all decide to break their fast at once?

If the rape victim had been to the hospital as suggested then the police would have easily verified this. Each hospital admission is logged on to NHS computer system. The police have conducted their own screening of the beauty shop's premises and have stated that there is absolutely no forensic evidence of any kind of activity that would arouse suspicion.

I have to agree with you. It seems that the rumour mill was given most publicity by the black newspaper "The Voice" which printed the allegations in their entirety, according to BBC TV News last night.

I have come to the conclusion that the "rape" never happened, and it was used as an excuse to enact resentments of the Asian community's better economic situation, via shops, above all else.

The drug gang explanations do not fully explain such rage and resentment felt against the Asians. It is perhaps a warning of things to come, which are bubbling away under the surface.

It appears much of the violence and looting was inspired purely by jealousy, hatred and greed. Indignant attempts to "see justice" for this imaginary girl had noothing to do with it.

Like it has been said above, this all started through rumours. The asian man's shop was more successful then another shop owned by a black person. The black person had a friend who worked on a pirate radio station so he helped to spread the rumours. Inevitably, the black community was enraged and wanted something to be done about it, but without actually waiting for a few seconds and actually wondering whether or not the alegged rape actaully even occured. A mistake had obviously been made in realising the true rationality of the allegations, but it wasn't helped by the fact that black youths were robbing asian shops, threatening innocent famlies with weapons (as seen on CCTV), vandalising mosques and basically causing carnage to anything "asian". I am not pointing the blame but the asians obviously had no choice but to fight back, they were protecting the mosques and innocent famlies who were being attacked by a small number of deluded black youths amongst the mostly innocent community of afro-caribbean people.

Another factor which isn't helping is the media coverage. Asians are being portrayed as the violent people, but in true reality it is infact both groups who are using violence, some more then others. How many of you heard of a black gang, amongst many others, called the RCC (Rally Close Crew) who on the way back from the riots robbed a pub and broke into the homes of innocent asians and beat them in their own sitting rooms in front of their families?...EXACTLY!!!-and that's only one small gang who live on a cul-de-sac called Rally Close!

Now that's the media coverage, let's talk about the police. They don't give a shit what us asians and blacks do to each other. For them it's one less "nigger" or one less "paki" to deal with. My friend's mum was threatened by a Jamaican man on a BMX who said "you pakis best pack the fuck up"-a few minutes later her husband strolled passed a group of police officers with a machette in pursuit of the Jamaican, they just pretended they didn't see anything- as i said it's one less "nigger" or "paki" they have to deal with.

It is apparent so far that this trouble is not actually on a huge scale at the moment. Black youths were called over from Brixton etc. to join in on the riots, but this still didn't lead to as much trouble as it could have. Can you imagine the kind of carnage that would have been caused if asian youths were also called in? Do you remember the Oldham riots?...police officers were being set alight and petrol bombed-just a preview of the full scale of what happend.

Now, moving on to the subject of the Burger Bar Boys etc. Do you really think that these gangs have really got the time to join in on trouble like this? For them, the quicker the police leave the area, the better it is for "business" to continue. As i am asian myself i know the leaders of some of these asian gangs personally. The leader of the Aston Panthers, who i shall not name ,is a millionaire who pays frequent visits to a designer shop where i chill (spending £1000s at a time), who then cruises off in his black 6 series BMW with the number plate "SICKK". The leader of The Lynx, is also a very wealthy man, who owns a very successful chip shop in the Sparkhill area and also a gym nearby amongst various other places-he cruises of in his Lamborghini. One of the top men of the Sher Punjab payed a visit to be personally a few months ago to buy something off me (don't worry nothing illegal!! lol) As you can see all my decisions are made on first hand experience, and it has become apparent to me that although many of these organised asian have joined forces to protect the asian community as a whole, their main interest is making money- they will only start getting involved once the bigger black gangs start getting involved. Until then they are going to leave it to the small petty street gangs who are often just groups of youths looking for a bit of "fun".

Now i urge all people, black and asian, to keep the peace. We need to end this episode here before it gets taken any further and the real gangsters have to start getting involved. Two black people have been killed as it is, can you imagine the numbers once The Lynx, Aston Panthers and Sher Punjab and other gangs start joining together?

You are obviously closer to the situation than most of the reporters who have covered the events. The issue of the cemeteries appears to be a deliberate provocation. There is talk that though the name "Black Nation" was used on the anti-Muslim fliers left at the scene, that they may have been left by extreme right-wing white groups.

Cemetery-vandalism is a low and cheap way to hurt a community, and totally unnecessary.

I know this issue creates strong feelings, and lil asian gal is sounding strange with the borrowed styles, but please try not to get so angry. I can understand where big man is coming from, but if you think about it, the style of talking she is using is not black but is used in the inner cities.
