Afghanistan: Another Muslim Cleric is Murdered
We brought you the story of Mullah Maulvi Ahmad Khan. His death on Friday brought 9,000 people demonstrating their anger. He had been the fifth cleric to have died since June. Now another Mullah who supported the government has been killed.
A breaking report from Reuters AlertNet tells how Muhammad Gul, a member of the Shuraye Ulema or cleric's council was shot by suspected Taliban guerillas as he walked home after performing prayers at a mosque today.
The shooting happened in the south of the country, in Lashkargah, the main city of Helmand province. The Taliban have not yet made any official announcements.
