Afghanistan: Islamists Kill 3 US "Spies"
In a report from the Hindustan Times, today three Afghan men were killed by Taliban guerillas today. The three victims had their throats slit in the central province of Uruzgan.
A spokesman for the Taliban, Qari Mohammed Yousuf, stated in a satellite phone statement that "They were spying against the Mujahideen, and we slaughtered them." The three men were named as Lal Mohammad, Mohammad Hassan and Abdul Samad. Yousuf claimed that the men had been "spying" for the US military.
The Taliban spokesman added that four Afghan troops were killed in a pre-dawn raid in Khandahar province.
Over the past two weeks, the Taliban have been held responsible for the killing of more than 24 Afghan soldiers, five aid workers and at least two US soldiers.
