UK: Mosque Construction Hampered by Unusual Theft

In a report today from local newspaper, the Enfield Independent, a mosque under construction at Harrow, north London, has had a setback which temporarily put its construction on hold. The site of the Harrow Mosque in Rosslyn Crescent has had an unusual burglary.

A set of steel beams, each beam weighing around two to three tonnes, was taken last weekend. When workers arrived to restart work on the Monday after the weekend, they could not believe the massive beams had gone.

Examination of closed circuit TV footage revealed that a red flatback lorry arrived on-site, and a team of men transferred the beams onto the vehicle and left.

If you have any information about this theft, or if anyone in the street has offered you any large metal objects at a discount price, you are invited to call Harrow Police on (+44) 020 8733 3441.
