US: Council on American-Islamic Relations Strikes at Free Speech Once Again!
The tentacles of CAIR have reached out to crush yet another American target, in their ongoing jihad to destroy free speech and silence anything that does not promote their narrow agenda.
Their latest victim is Christopher Wilson, who ran a website in which American soldiers were allegedly allowed to post gruesome photos of war casualties in Iraq, in exchange for access to pornography.
CAIR had decided this site offended them and mounted a campaign, even writing to Donald Rumsfeld, US defense secretary.
27-year old Wilson is now being held in jail in Polk County, Florida, faced with 300 charges of obscenity. The obscenity he is charged with is the display of pornography, and not for the more obscene images of war.
In a Telegraph article, Wilson is quoted as saying he defended showing the soldier's graphic snaps as "an unedited look at the war from their point of view...to me, it is just a more real look at what's going on".
On the site, Wilson asked soldiers to send in pictures to prove they were in a war zone, in exchange for free access to his site, which has amateur pornographic images of user's girlfriends and wives.
If he is not being charged for showing photographs of dead Iraqis, and I have seen some of the images from his site on FFI's forum (they are, naturally, unpleasant), then it seems ludicrous to me that this man is sitting in a jail right now. Whatever happened to US values, like Freedom of Speech?
Is CAIR really out to destroy your guys' culture like an Americanised Taliban? If the courts in the US decide to find this man guilty, then the next person that CAIR should target is Bill Gates. I am a member of a couple of MSN communities which specialize in showing pictures of explicit, consensual sexual acts between adults. A wife or girlfriend exposing her private areas willingly for a photograph is not a patch on the things MSN communities display for free.
CAIR's objection was political, and nothing more. They could not wish to see obscenity charges brought for showing charred or dismembered Iraqis, because so many US Islamic websites from groups who share the same agenda as CAIR regularly show such images, in a grotesque display of anti-American and pro-Islamic propaganda. I am a British citizen, and proud of it. But when I see what CAIR is doing to the ways of life and values of the US, a country I unashamedly admire - I want to puke, spit and scream.
ps: The picture here is not a horrifically disfigured Iraqi, nor Mr Wilson, nor one of the reader's wives from the site, but lovable wannabe Mullah, Ibrahim Hooper, of CAIR. Come to think of it, he's got hair round his lips, so he looks a bit like a cu-
