France: Video of Two Iraqi Oil Workers Shot by Islamist Group

From a news release this afternoon in Le Monde, with my poor translation following.

The group Ansar al-Sunnah, linked to the Al Qaeda network, have executed by shooting two Iraqis captured at Kirkuk who worked as guards looking after the oil installations, according to a video put online today (Sunday).

In this video, of which the authenticity has not been verified, the two Iraqis are shown while being interrogated and then afterwards being shot.

According to a message released on an internet site, this group has affirmed that it captured the two men on an issue of "a battle between Muhahideen and the guards charged with protecting oil installations at Kirkuk whose revenues are used by opposing forces to finance their operations in Iraq."

Presenting themselves as an alliance of jihadist cells, Ansar al-Sunnah (The Fighters for the values of the Prophet) have claimed they have numerous followers in Iraq.

Note: I mistranslated this article earlier, and offer apologies. The men were shot and not stoned, as indicated. I have been intending to rectify this error for months, but never got to do so. Seeing people have now linked to this file, I have amended it, and hope this has not caused inconvenience.
