Want a job? Al-Qaeda Has Exciting Employment Offers For You!
If you are media savvy and your job prospects seem dull, then al-Qaeda may have just the job you may seek. According to today's Hindustan Times, a London based organisation called Asharq al-Awsat has said on its website that al-Qaeda had "vacant positions" for
video production and editing statements, footage and international media coverage about militants in Iraq, the Palestinian territories, Chechnya and other conflict zones where militants are active.With such great offers, it is tempting to look at their website. I just had a look to see if I could find new employment (Western Resistance refuse to pay me the figure I demand), but found to my disappointment that it was in Arabic. So it seems you need to read and speak Arabic to qualify for any of these attractive posts, and you'll probably be better off not mentioning if you are squeamish about seeing blood and decapitation in your CV application.
Asharq al-Aswat said the Global Islamic Media Front, an al-Qaeda linked internet-based operation would "follow up with members interested in joining and contact them via email". No details of how to contact these potential employers at Global Islamic Media Front was given, and there are no mentions in printed papers, nor the internet sites normally used by al-Qaeda related sites to post information. No salaries were disclosed, but I assume these can be negotiated at the initial interview.
Asharq al-Awsat said the advert did not specify salary amounts, but added: "Every Muslim knows his life is not his, since it belongs to this violated Islamic nation whose blood is being spilled. Nothing should take precedence over this."Oh well, I suppose I have to remain here, shackled to my keyboard while my employers continue to pay me a pittance. Sigh......The Front last month launched an Internet news broadcast called Voice of the Caliphate, which it said aimed to combat anti-Qaeda "lies and propaganda" on major international and Arab television channels such as CNN and Al Jazeera.
