The US staves off the forces of darkness once more

From BusinessWeek online we have the story of the United Nations latest bid to wrench control of the internet away from the United States on the basis of "fairness," since the entire world uses the internet.

I have several objections to allowing the United Nation to take control of the internet, not the least of which are that the UN is a diseased and corrupted institution that has already inflicted enough damage with the power it already has and that dictatorships, which hold much sway in the UN would take this opportunity to crush the free flow of information and clamp down on voices of dissent.

My chief objection, however, is that taking away control from the institution that has built, developed and successfully managed the internet to put it in the hands of another institution that did not build, develop and has not proven it can successfully manage the world wide web, is not "fair". It's near communism.
