Thailand: Muslims Kill 3 in South
Following on from recent bloody events, a report from Reuters today indicates further violence is on the way, but in a more organised fashion. One policeman and two migrant Chinese workers were killed earlier today. The policeman died in a planned bomb attack on a police motorcycle patrol in the southern province of Yala. Five other police were injured. The road had been scattered with spikes, and trees cut down and used as barricades to block access to the victims. Eventually soldiers managed to use an armoured vehicle to rescue the injured, two of whom had been hit by AK -47 rifle fire.
In neighbouring Narathiwat, militants on motorbikes killed two Chinese street vendors in a drive-by shooting.
