UK: Muslim Students to Sue Birmingham University
From today's local newspaper, the Sutton Coldfield Observer, a report that eight Muslim students and graduates are to sue Birmingham University for religious discrimination. The Muslims, all men, are aggrieved that the University decided to annul the results of an election, in which 14 Muslim students were chosen to act as National Union of Students delegates in national NUS conferences. The men claimed the poll was declared void because of allegations of fraud and voter intimidation, and with the NUS having no right of appeal, they were pursuing legal action.
