Continuing Problems in "Moderate" Bangladesh
But remember, Bangladesh is a "moderate islamic country": Bangladesh inducts women in parliament amid protest
Bangladesh moved to redress a gender imbalance in parliament by appointing 36 more women legislators on Tuesday, but the main opposition party rejected the move saying they should have been chosen by direct vote.
(Note: the main opposition Party is the Awami League, an Islamist organization.)
