British Muslims Forget Their Roots
Today's Daily Telegraph has a clear and fascinating article about the problems that many of Britain's Muslims, and particularly those in the Muslim Council for Britain, have created for themselves. By Mihir Bose, a Muslim whose ancestry is from the Indian sub-continent, the article gives a clear analysis of the situation in Britain. Many British Muslims are Asian in origin, as are Sir Icky Sacranie and his limp-wristed sidekick, Inayat Bunglawala, and these have been exposed to the particularly virulent Saudi-Middle Eastern attitudes about Islam's role in the world. Mr Bose speaks of the roots of these UK Islamists in pre-partition India, when Indian Muslims were regarded for the first time in 300 years as an underclass - "Dhimmis", and how one man, Syed Ahmed Khan, emerged to champion their cause. His work also helped the British Raj to keep peace between India's religious factions, and he became knighted in 1888.
Some from the subcontinent even go to great lengths to deny that they emerged from the wretched Hindus, claiming to be Muslims whose ancestry can be traced to conquering armies of Islam that poured into India through the Middle Ages..Sadly, however, when these same Muslims go to the Middle East they find that, far from being treated as fellow Muslims, they are often bracketed with the Hindu infidels and not considered real Muslims at all. Privately this causes great angst among the Muslims but it is not a public topic they like to discuss.
Please read his article. It is the clearest, most cogent assessment of why the "weaseling" Sacranie and his followers act the way they do. Only a Muslim could write anything as honest and forthright as this in the UK media, without being accused of bigotry.
