British Police Lied About Shooting

July 22, 2005 is another date that people in Britain should remember. Only one day after a series of failed suicide-bombers had tried to set off explosive devices on London Transport, televised news reports gave us details that earlier in the morning, a man had been shot. On ITV Lunchtime News, we in Britain were told that a suspected terrorist had been shot five times in the head as he tried to enter a Tube train. Later that evening we were told by BBC that he had been shot with low-velocity bullets at close range, a tactic employed to minimise the risk to civilian bystanders.

Acting on Israeli intelligence, we were told, the Metropolitan Police were trained to shoot at the head to kill, in case a bomber had his fingers ready to detonate an explosive charge. The next day, more lurid details emerged. We were told that he was wearing a large bulky jacket, like a gangsta puffa jacket. The suspect had been asked to stop, we were told, but he had vaulted over a ticket barrier, and then, as he made a desperate attempt to enter the tube train, he was shot five times.

The Times newspaper provided a nice clear graphic of the event, showing how the man had fled from plain clothes police. Then it emerged that the man had been innocent of any attempted bombing. I proclaimed arrogantly on another website that he was an idiot, because he should have stopped when asked. The man's name was Jean Charles de Menezez, a Brazilian from an impoverished family who, according to a Home Office leak, had overstayed his student visa, and had even forged the stamp on his existing visa. A tragic accident, I thought, but he had behaved like an idiot.

But NO. We were all fooled.....

Jean Charles de Menezez really was an innocent man. Despite his visa issues, his only crime was to have lived in the same block of flats as another suspect, under surveillance for being part of the recent bomb plots. Jack Straw has now revealed that his visa was valid, and he was legally entitled to stay in the country.

Jean Charles de Menezez did not run, he was never challenged as he went down the stairs at Stockwell station, he did not jump over any barriers, and he only speeded up as he got to the station platform to ensure he got on the train. He boarded the train, and had actually sat down in a seat, before the police pounced on him, wrestled him to the ground and fired EIGHT shots into him - one in the shoulder, and seven to his head. He was not wearing a bulky jacket, just a plain denim one. Not the kind to conceal an explosive device. He looked, to the pursuing officer who "identified" him as a suspect, like an Asian, though he seems Mediterranean or Hispanic from his photographs.

A leaked report, details of which are in the links below, show a whole catalogue of incompetence, over-reaction, and then blatant lying to cover up the truth.

The policeman who should have been videotaping the "suspect", took a break to "relieve himself" - a crime if he did it on the street, even more so if he was relieving himself of "solids".

This is the British police force that I am more familiar with. Anyone who has ever been mugged or burgled will know that the average PC Plod is a lazy individual, who hates paperwork, and will hardly ever find his villain, unless it is a high profile case, such as one involving murder or terrorism. I myself have been physically assaulted twice by British police, and recently I have seen one woman I know being actively threatened with violence by a psychopath, with no action taken. I have in the past witnessed black people physically attacked by police - I even photographed a black man having his arm deliberately broken outside my window when I lived in London.

With judges allowing potential terrorists to walk free because of their "human rights", even though these individuals have advocated killing civilians, while I will soon not be able to sneer at Muslims for wearing their stupid "fancy dress" costumes for fear of a 7-year jail sentence, and with the senior ranks of the police force, government and judiciary at pains to bend over backwards to accommodate the Islamic menace within our society, at least there is one reassuring (?) factor in all of this:

British police at "ground level" still comprise racist, incompetent, dishonest and lazy individuals, who only enforce the law properly when they are put under extreme pressure.

No wonder the crazed imams seem to be winning in this dirty battle.

Questions are already being asked of the Met's senior official, Sir Ian Blair, for how such a catalogue of lies was dealt to the public. Furthermore, questions should also be asked at the Home Office, as to who authorised the falsely attributed "leak" about Mr Menezez' visa, and more importantly, "Why?".
